Next meeting Tuesday 2/6/07

We have speakers lined up for the entire month of February (I'll add the 4th later), so be sure to make it out to these meetings and show your support! There's a lot to learn from each speaker so I strongly encourage everyone to come.

Tuesdays 11:00am, room 03-113 ... Free FOOD!

I'm also very anxious to hear what everyone thinks about the club. There is a lot of room for improvment, but we can only improve when you guys tell us what you want to see. If there's something you want to do, go to the "contact us" section and shoot us an email, we will make it happen!

UPCOMING SPEAKERS:

Tue, February 6: Small Business Development Center

You may have heard of the SBDC, but might not have a clear understanding of what it has to offer, or how you can take full advantage of it. The SBDC is a resource provided for all business owners, and is certainly an organization worth knowing about whether you own a business or plan to own one in the future. A representative from the SBDC will be speaking, at our meeting on Tuesday. She will be explaining all aspects of the SBDC, including how you can benefit from their organization!

Tue, February 13: Frederick Export SLO

The owner of Frederick Export, a new and thriving export business will be speaking at our meeting on February 13th. He has been helping American businesses maintain sales in today's global market. It is crucial to understand how you can get an edge, and how you can still be a major competitor in this enourmous business atmosphere. Mr. Frederick certainly has plenty of experience in international business, and knows what it takes to survive in such a cut-throat environment. I strongly encourage everyone to attend, and bring questions!

Tue, February 20: Garden Escapes

Garden Escapes is a landscaping business owned by Cal Poly Graduate Erik Jones. He'll be giving us the run down on his business. The goal is to take the lessons he has learned along the way, and apply them to our own business ventures. As with most business owners, he'll have his own special situations and hurdles that he had to overcome to grow his business.

Some of his key topics were, the inspiration for his business, the growth of his business, the future including franchising, patent process, and other great tips for how to run a business. We look forward to having him back in the future to tell us more about how his business has expanded. Best of luck Mr. Serwitz!
